What we do, and why.

Responsible Alcohol Retailer
If you appear under 21, we'll ask you to prove you are over 18. We only accept ID with a photograph, i.e. Passport, Driving Licence
We are not allowed to serve you if you appear to be drunk.
We will not serve you if we suspect you intend to pass alcohol to under 18's.
We belong to 'Redcar PubWatch' which excludes violent or
trouble-causing individuals from licensed premises.
 
  

Payment Options
You can pay with cash.
We accept all major credit and debit cards.
You can get CASH BACK here, when paying by card.
We do not accept cheques.
 

Customer Complaints
We want you to be completely satisfied with your food and drinks. Please let us know if there has been a problem and we will 'refund or replace' wherever possible.


Since the introduction of the Smoking Ban, we have provided tables in our outside area, this has become very popular with our customers who smoke.
From the Bar, there is access to our Heated, Smoking Area. This has been occupied by a few mindless idiots recently, but i suppose the answer is just to keep moving them on and not let them abuse our customer areas!
We aim for complete customer satisfaction. If you are not completely happy with your visit to 'The Starting Gate' we want to hear about it. Let us know if something is wrong and we will do what we can to make it right.
